THE STAT EVERY NONPROFIT NEEDS TO REMEMBER

The holiday season is coming which means it is time for gifts to be given and received. Gifts here, gifts there, and gifts everywhere.
There is an unofficial stat out there that states "100% of all adults were once kids". 🤔😉 I never did much research on that but it does seem plausible. This is a stat that EVERY nonprofit director needs to keep in mind in order for us to move on to the next point.
When we were kids we were told by some adult at some time . . . to be grateful for our gifts and to THANK the person who gave us the gift. Before we tore open that toy or tried on that new outfit, it was important that we gave a big hug to the person who gave the gift to us (or at least SAY thank you).
This is a lesson that we are taught as kids yet we sometimes forget to refer to it as adults. #1 thing donors love more than anything? A simple handwritten card. Have you been doing that with your donors randomly throughout the year (not just when they make the gift)? If not, consider doing so.
So when you think about how to treat a donor when they make a gift . . . just remember those gift receiving lessons you learned when you were a kid.
To learn other ways to thank your donors properly, consider doing a Community Impact Study with us. Visit us at www.midweststudiesgroup.com for more information.
